The Challenge
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance/Construction Technician to join our Manns Harbor Shipyard team.
In this role, you will:
- Perform daily maintenance/construction operations of our docking department including assisting in the maintenance and repair of Syncrolift and other Shipyard equipment such as forklifts, cranes, loaders, and small engines.
- Operate forklifts, cranes, and loaders.
- Assist in the process of arranging cradles, blocks, ropes, and equipment for hauling vessels.
- Assist in blocking, hauling, transferring, and refloating vessels.
What You Bring
- Working knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, and materials used in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and machinery.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and work from sketches or pencil drawings.
- Experience operating common machine shop equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Experience performing heavy physical tasks for extended times.
Education & Experience
High school/GED diploma, and
1+ years of relevant experience; or
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Note
We may require certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician
